A new START treaty will most likely be signed at the end of the week, as the sides do not have any major disagreements, said Evgeny Myasnikov from the Center for Arms Control.

“What negotiators are currently doing is that they are trying to fix all the disagreements, but I don’t think there are fundamental disagreements at this point,” Myasnikov said.

”I think the scope of the treaty is quite clear and they are trying to fix the details of the verification system.”
