The world’s most boiling issues were on the table at the meeting between Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the American Jewish Committee that recently arrived in Moscow.

The Middle East peace process took up a lot of the discussion between the two sides.

“The central issue in making peace is whether the Palestinians will finally overcome their hostility to Israel, sit down at the table for direct talks and recognize that both sides have to make a compromise for the goal. And the goal is two nations for two peoples – a Palestinian state living alongside Israel, not in place of Israel,” the committee's executive director, David Harris told RT.

The parties also discussed relations between Russia and the US, as well as Iran's nuclear ambitions. As before, this meeting was “friendly and frank,” Harris noted.
