Hillary Clinton has played an understated but very important role in framing Obama administration foreign policy, Reihan Salam of the New America Foundation told RT.

“Her key thing has been pushing for a continuity with certain aspects of president Bush’s second term foreign policy, which was very different from the first term: it was more moderate, it was focused more heavily on diplomacy, but it also focused on the idea of retaining American strength,” Salam said.

This past weekend, Clinton was guest of honour at a dinner for the Global Leadership Coalition.

She was praised for her public service from being First Lady, to Senator, and now as the nation’s top diplomat.
