Danny Glover, US actor and activist, spoke with RT about how he views his social role, his political activism, the wars that America is involved in and his opinion about President Obama.

Danny Glover says the first thing he sees himself is as a citizen.

“And whether I think of myself as a citizen of the US, or more broadly as a citizen of the world, certainly there are certain responsibilities to the role that we play as citizens. So I don’t abdicate that responsibility just because I’m visible and just because people know me in my specific roles. If they know me by simply ‘Mandela’ when I played Mandela 24 years ago, then they will expect a certain kind of behavior from me by the nature of the role that I play.”

The actor says citizens’ voices need to be heard at this particular point in time over countless issues.
