Police in Los Angeles have arrested Liliana Carrillo, 30, after they discovered the bodies of her three kids, stabbed to death in their home. The gruesome find sparked a manhunt for Carrillo, who reportedly fled in a stolen car.

Police and firefighters were called to Reseda Boulevard in northwest Los Angeles on Saturday morning to investigate a possible stabbing. On arrival, they made a grisly discovery: the bodies of three minors, all under the age of five, and all apparently stabbed to death, police said.

Shortly after the children’s bodies were found, Carrillo reportedly committed a carjacking in Bakersfield, about 100 miles north of the crime scene in an apparent attempt to flee.

Several hours after the manhunt was launched, Carrillo was taken into custody, and is currently believed to be the sole suspect in the ghastly crime.

Police said that the motive behind the apparent murder is so far unclear.
