‘Kanye is over’: Fury after rapper tweets support for Trump

Rapper Kanye West lost 10 million Twitter followers and is being accused of “siding with the oppressor” after tweeting his support for President Donald Trump, including a signed ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.

West returned to Twitter last week after a prolonged absence, and he immediately set tongues wagging by praising a black conservative and arguing that “thought police want to suppress freedom of thought.”

On Wednesday, though, he turned it up to 11 by posting a picture of a MAGA hat autographed by Trump and saying he’s “not scared of the media” anymore.

He also tweeted that “the mob can’t make me not love” Trump. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother,” West added.

Trump thanked the rapper for his support.

West’s endorsement of Trump cost him more than 10 million followers, and angry denunciations from those who could not stomach that a rapper who once argued that former President George W. Bush “doesn’t care about black people” is now siding with the “oppressor.”

West’s wife Kim Kardashian first asked him to clarify that he does not agree with Trump on everything.

When that failed to mollify the angry mob, Kim tried shaming them for insinuating Kanye has mental health problems.

“He’s a free thinker, is that not allowed in America?” she tweeted. “Because some of his ideas differ from yours you have to throw in the mental health card? That’s just not fair.”

Meanwhile, posters with West’s face and Trump’s re-election slogan “Keep America Great” have been popping up across US cities.
