Officials in Florida are holding a joint press conference after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that claimed 17 lives. Governor Rick Scott called for legislation so that mentally ill people do not get guns.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel called for lawmakers in Florida and Washington to ensure there are enough first responders to react to tragic events like that. He also said that law-enforcement agencies should have more resources to investigate disturbing claims on social media. It's been revealed that the FBI investigated a 2017 YouTube comment  "I'm going to be a professional school shooter'', but they could not ID the person behind that. The comment was made by a person under name Nicholas Cruz, the same name as that of the teen charged with the Florida shooting.
