Community groups will rally at Baltimore City Hall to commemorate the anniversary of the unrest that spread through the Maryland city in the days after the in-custody death of Freddie Gray.

The Coalition for the Transformation and Betterment of Baltimore, a coalition of more than 75 organizations, organized the demonstration. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend, hoping to draw attention to the need for "unity and cooperation" between the community and police, WHEC reported.

At the same time, the group Stand Up BMore will hold a voter rally ahead of Tuesday’s primary in Maryland. Along with voting for presidential candidates, Baltimore residents will also vote for a replacement for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
