Armored truck guard rocks Pharrell-style hat

It might seem crazy what I'm about to say, but there’s a security guard in New York City wearing a Pharrell-style hat while he happily delivers cash to his customers.

The Brinks armored truck employee was spotted by a DNAinfo reporter sporting a bucket hat made iconic by musician Pharrell Williams at the 2014 Grammys.

The hat caused such a stir at the time it spawned a parody twitter account.

Inspired by "Peruvian women wearing bowler hats and full skirts, dancing with their babies tied on their back”, Pharrell’s famous hat came from Vivienne Westwood’s Buffalo Girls collection.

The musician auctioned the hat on eBay for charity soon after the Grammys and the highest bid was for $44,100 by the US fast food chain Arby’s. Their logo features a similar hat and their Grammy night tweet about it went viral.

Pharrell shared the hat’s history during an interview on a Los Angeles radio station in February 2014.

While DNAinfo admit it’s unlikely the security guard is rocking the real deal, perhaps it'll get him a discount on some roast beef sandwiches.
