United Russia leads polls with Communists a distant second

Ahead of the State Duma elections on December 2, two independent research centres have carried out separate polls of the electoral support of Russian parties.

According to a survey conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTSIOM) more than 55% of respondents support the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, with the Communist Party a distant second with only 6%. Fair Russia and the Liberal Democratic Party each have 5% of the vote. One per cent of those asked said they'd support the Union of Right Forces. In the other survey by Levada-Centre showed an even greater lead for United Russia – with 67%. In this survey the Communist party gained 14%. Also in this survey, Fair Russia scored 6% while the Liberal Democrats were on 4%. Again 1% said they would vote for The Union of Right Forces. CLICK FOR COMPLETE POLL DATA
