Russia's Presidential election: Early voting starts

15 Feb, 2008 02:29 / Updated 16 years ago

Early voting to elect a new Russian President is already underway for some voters, who live far from ballot stations. These include those who live in hard-to-get areas, crews of ships at sea and workers of polar stations.

Around 200,000 people will cast their ballots earlier than the rest of the electorate. Some 74 polling stations are also available for voters living abroad and far from Russian diplomatic missions, where ballots traditionally take place.
