Azerbaidjan will host a trip by Medvedev in July. The gas exporting country has ‘strong partnership relations’ with Russia as President Aliev stressed today and both men's main task will be to preserve them.

Medvedev: Ilkham Geidarovich, I am very glad we are able to meet. We have many reasons for communication, many interesting projects. The structure of sales is improving. This may be something technical, yet it is very important in bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. We are going to have a brief meeting right now, but I hope that we will see each other soon, and in the beginning of July I will pay a visit to you in Baku and we will talk in detail about all the aspects of our co-operation. Aliev: Thank you Dmitry Anatolievich, I am glad we are meeting and also glad that you accepted the invitation to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan during the first year of your presidency. This is a very important indicator of the high level of our bilateral relations. I hope that further development of our relations will be just as positive and we will actively work in many directions. Relations are developing between our countries very dynamically and positively. They can be described as partnership relations, we communicate in a wide format, have a wide agenda. I am very glad we are moving forward very fast. We actively co-operate in the region, in our bilateral relations, there is a serious progress, which is very encouraging. Medvedev: We will continue to do so. Aliev: Good potential for the future…
