At least seven people have been injured in the attack, a regional governor

A Ukrainian drone struck an apartment block in Tver, a city northwest of Moscow, on Friday, injuring at least seven people, officials said.

Video from the scene shows fire and smoke coming from a nine-story building.

Acting Tver Region Governor Vitaly Korolyev said that evacuation was underway and that seven people, including a child, have been hospitalized.

Local media reported that the fire has been extinguished and that rescue crews remain at the scene.

Drones were also reported flying over other cities in western Russia, including Smolensk and Yaroslavl.

The drone attacks occurred after the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the Donbass city of Seversk on Thursday. Control of the city, which had seen intermittent fighting since 2022, opens a path to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, currently held by Ukrainian forces.
