UN special envoy to take part in Syria talks – Kazakhstan

United Nations’ special envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen will take part in the next round of talks on Syria, spokesman for Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry Aybek Smadiyarov told TASS on Wednesday. The negotiations will be held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, on April 25-26. Kazakhstan’s officials earlier said that delegations of guarantor countries – Iran, Russia, and Turkey, as well as representatives of the Syrian government and opposition groups, will be among the participants. Representatives of UN and Jordan will take part in consultations as observers.
