Moscow is working on retaliatory measures against Washington after it imposed sanctions on a Russian company for allegedly aiding North Korea, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. He was quoted as saying on Thursday that a decision on the measures would be taken by Russia’s leadership. The United States sanctioned Russian-based Profinet Pte Ltd and its director general on Wednesday “for providing port services on at least six occasions to North Korean-flagged ships,” Reuters reported. The US Treasury also sanctioned a Chinese firm and its Singapore-based affiliate for selling alcohol and tobacco to North Korea in breach of US sanctions aimed at pressuring Pyongyang to end its nuclear programs.
