Ankara is ready to continue talks with the United States if it shows a constructive stance to resolve a diplomatic rift, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s spokesman said on Wednesday. Ibrahim Kalin said at a news conference that there were no talks planned between President Erdogan and US President Donald Trump. Kalin expects problems with the US to be resolved but says Washington must stop trying to influence Turkey’s judiciary, Reuters reports. Kalin also said that Turkey will take a positive stance towards trading in national currencies to escape from US dollar pressure. The lira, which has rallied after hitting a record low of 7.24 to the dollar, would continue to recover, he added. According to him, Turkey would exercise its rights if the US does not deliver F-35 jets to Ankara.
