Thirty-six people, including some security force members, were wounded in Bucharest after Romanian police deployed tear gas against diaspora protesters to stop the crowd from breaking down a barrier and entering the government building's yard, Balkan Insight reports. The protesters are Romanian expatriates and other anti-government activists who are speaking out against the ruling Social Democrat party's push to relax the fight against corruption. Most of the expatriate crowd lives within the EU, though some came from as far away as the US and Canada.
