Riyadh has agreed to issue a visa to an Iranian diplomat who will be heading an office representing Iran’s interests in Saudi Arabia, Iranian state IRNA news agency has said, citing diplomatic sources. “An informed diplomatic source said Sunday that Saudi Arabia had agreed to grant a visa to the head... of Iran’s interests section,” IRNA said. “Observers saw this... as a positive diplomatic step in the Tehran-Riyadh relations.” The office is expected to be created within the Swiss Embassy in the Kingdom in line with an agreement signed in 2017. The two Middle Eastern rivals severed ties in 2016.
