Washington and Pyongyang have agreed to establish working groups that would handle the most pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular, the course of North Korea’s de-nuclearization efforts, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement Friday. She said the groups’ work will be focused on “nitty gritty stuff,” without providing any specific details. The announcement came after US State Secretary Mike Pompeo held high-level talks with Kim Yong Chol, vice chairman of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party Central Committee, in Pyongyang. The officials discussed a range of issues, including the return of the remains of US troops killed in the Korean War.
