Moscow and Beijing are interested in preserving and fully implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday. He made the statement at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Vienna. “The situation is complex, but, just like China and other parties to the deal, we are committed to international law and the UN Security Council decision in which this plan was enshrined, thus becoming part of international law,” TASS quoted Lavrov as saying. The foreign ministers of Iran, the UK, Germany, China, Russia and France are meeting in the Austrian capital to discuss efforts to salvage the nuclear deal in the wake of Washington’s decision to withdraw from it.
