The Syrian government has sent a letter to the UN following new airstrikes by the US-led coalition, SANA reported on Tuesday, saying that at least 10 civilians, including women and children, were killed in the Al-Hasaka province. In the letter to the UN secretary-general and the Security Council chairman, the Foreign Ministry in Damascus condemned the attacks by the “illegal international coalition against Syrian civilians and against the sovereignty, unity and security of the Syrian territory,” RIA Novosti said. The ministry said that the coalition attacked a number of villages in the provinces of Al-Hasaka, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor “as revenge for refusing to participate in the separatist detachments of the US allies.” It also added that the coalition “commits crimes against humanity and supports terrorism in order to undermine Syrian sovereignty.”
