Meeting of Russian, N. Korean leaders could take place this year – Moscow

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un could take place this year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Friday. Diplomats of the two states will coordinate the details of the meeting, he told reporters. North Korea’s KCNA news agency said on Friday that Moscow and Pyongyang have agreed to hold the summit of the two states’ leaders this year to mark the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the countries. The agreement was reached during a meeting on May 31 between the North Korean leader and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Pyongyang, according to the report.
