Iran staying within nuclear deal restrictions – IAEA

Iran has stayed within the main curbs on its nuclear activity imposed by its deal with major powers, despite the US pullout from the pact, the UN atomic watchdog said on Thursday. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in a new report that Iran had complied with limits on the level to which it can enrich uranium, its stock of enriched uranium and other items. However, the agency rebuked authorities in Tehran for dragging its feet over “complementary access” inspections under the IAEA’s additional protocol, which Iran is implementing under the deal, Reuters said. It was the first such report since US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s withdrawal from the agreement on May 8.
