A hardline Iranian cleric said on Friday that if Israel acts “foolishly,” Tel Aviv would be destroyed, according to a state TV report. “We will expand our missile capabilities despite Western pressure… to let Israel know that if it acts foolishly, Tel Aviv and Haifa will be totally destroyed,” Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said during Friday prayers at Tehran University. Commenting on US President Donald Trump’s decision to leave the deal under which Iran curbed its nuclear program, Khatami said: “America cannot do a damn thing. They have always been after the toppling of Iran’s regime and this exit is in line with that aim.” He added that European signatories to the deal “also cannot be trusted… Iran’s enemies cannot be trusted,” Reuters reports.
