UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura will visit Moscow on Friday, TASS quoted the diplomat’s chief of staff, Michael Conte, as saying on Wednesday. De Mistura will meet senior Russian officials in Moscow, he noted. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and De Mistura are expected to hold talks during the envoy’s visit. The UN Information Service in Geneva said on Tuesday that De Mistura is staying in Riyadh within a UN delegation headed by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. De Mistura most recently visited Russia on March 29, when he met with Lavrov and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
