Russia ready to provide transport, military police escort to OPCW in E. Ghouta, Syria

The Russian military said it is prepared to provide special transport and a military police escort for inspectors of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in Eastern Ghouta, Syria. The chief of the center for the reconciliation of conflicting parties in Syria, Yury Yevtushenko, also told reporters that the center was prepared to provide assistance to ensure the security of the OPCW in Eastern Ghouta. The transport and Russian military police units may be provided “to maintain security,” TASS quoted Yevtushenko as saying.
