North Korean leader Kim Jong-un chaired a party meeting on Monday, at which he analyzed the future outcome of dialogue with the United States and the development of inter-Korean relations ahead of a summit with South Korea on April 27, state media reports said on Tuesday. In Pyongyang’s first mention of official dialogue with the US and the summit with Seoul, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) added that Kim set “strategic and tactical issues” to be upheld by the Workers’ Party. US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he planned to meet the North Korean leader next month or in early June, and hoped the discussions would ultimately lead to an end of Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program.
