At least 27 children were killed in India when a school bus plunged into a gorge in the Himalayan foothills, AP reported. Three adults were also killed in the crash, Himachal Pradesh state transport minister Govind Singh Takur told PTI. Reuters earlier stated that the bus drove off a mountain road in the northern Indian state on Monday. The bus was carrying more than 30 children when it swerved off the road and fell into a gorge. Recovery operations got underway after rescue teams reached the scene. The bus was transporting children studying at a private school in Nurpur town, 300km from Shimla, the state capital.
