US online shopping giant Amazon announced on Monday it had struck a deal with the French government to settle a bill for nearly €200 million ($249 million) in unpaid taxes. Amazon, one of the US tech giants, was accused of paying too little tax in Europe, AFP said. The company said the deal related to a French claim from 2012 covering the period from 2006 to 2010.
