5.8-magnitude quake hits Nicaragua – USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 struck Nicaragua about 80km southwest of Rivas on Tuesday, Reuters reported. An initial alert from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) put the magnitude at 6.0. It was revised some minutes later. The tremor had a depth of 40km, according to the USGS.
