Spain’s Supreme Court said on Tuesday that it had withdrawn an international arrest warrant for Catalonia’s former leader Carles Puigdemont and four of his cabinet colleagues. The court said that the politicians had shown willingness to return to Spain, Reuters reports. All five traveled to Belgium following a unilateral declaration of independence in the Catalan parliament on October 27, considered illegal by the Spanish courts. The withdrawal of the arrest warrant would also prevent more than one European jurisdiction from overseeing the case, according to the court.
