An absolute majority of Britons, Germans, French and Poles want better relations between Brussels and Moscow, according to the French Institute of Public Opinion (Ifop). It has conducted a poll at Sputnik’s behest, and interviewed a total of 3,228 respondents over the age of 18. Asked if they would like relations between the EU and Russia to improve in the near future, 87 percent of Germans polled, 85 percent of Poles, 79 percent of French and 68 percent of Britons answered “Yes.” In Germany, 90 percent of male respondents turned out to be more inclined towards better relations with Russia. In France and the UK, 82 percent and 71 percent of male respondents favored better ties, respectively.
