Zimbabwe’s former vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn in as president on Friday, Reuters said, citing a report by state broadcaster ZBC on Wednesday. Robert Mugabe submitted his resignation the previous day after nearly four decades in power. Mnangagwa had fled for his safety after Mugabe sacked him two weeks ago. The ex-vice president will land back in Zimbabwe at 6pm (1600 GMT) at Manyame Airbase in Harare, according to ZBC.
