Israeli soldiers opened fire at two Palestinians crossing the border into Israel from the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, the military said. One of the Gazans was wounded, Haaretz daily reported. The man was taken for medical treatment, and the other was detained for questioning. The military said that a knife was found on one of them. A week ago, the military raised its alert level, taking measures in the wake of assessments that the Islamic Jihad group in Gaza will attempt to carry out an attack.
