People have taken to the streets of the German capital in their thousands to protest the far-right, anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany (AfD) party entering the German parliament, its first meeting being scheduled on Tuesday next week. Some 12,000 people took part in the rally held under the slogan “Against hatred and racism in the Bundestag,” according to German media. AfD denounced the protest as an “attack on democracy.”
