The international congress of world heritage cities is taking place in the Tatarstan capital. To mark the occasion the Kazan Kremlin has been added to UNESCO's World heritage list.

Heads of 192 cities from 69 countries as well as experts and businessmen have arrived to Kazan to talk about how to maintain the history of their cities and also make sure that in the future their cities do develop and how they will be affected by this development. “To be honest it is always hard to say no to new construction projects. Between keeping historical legacy and environment there has to be an ideal balance,” confessed Ilsur Metshin, Kazan mayor.
