The six Russian adventurers failed to arrive at their destination after setting out on a rafting trip on a mountain river in north-western China this month. “The next stage is to get into the middle of the supposed route and to investigate along the river the getaway routes and try to reach the catamaran on shore,” Andrey Legoshin from Russia’s Emergency Ministry said. The rescue team has not lost hope for finding the rafters alive either. “There is a certain chance as there is a village not far from that place and there is water there. Any person who does not have severe injuries would stay alive in such conditions. They must have had some food stock with them,” Veniamin Uspensky, rescuer, said.
