Two active volcanoes on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East continue to erupt. Around 6,000 people from Ust-Kamchatsk are unable to leave the area because roads are blocked.
Officials say the people are in no danger and are not short of food and water. The Emergency Situations Ministry says all necessary security measures have been taken.The exploding volcanoes are firing molten material a hundred metres into the air, and mud and ash are pouring into the nearby Bekesh river. The Emergency Situations Ministry has warned aircraft in the area to be on the alert.
