Venezuela eyes Russian missile systems

Caracas wants to buy air defence missile systems from Russia. President Hugo Chavez says they are needed to protect the country’s key strategic sites. He explained that the deal entails the purchase of up to twelve systems.

Russia recently signed some $US 3 BLN worth of military deals with Venezuelan  government making it the country's largest weapons supplier.
