For its part, the cemetery wall had been covered by graffiti as a protest following the demolition of a residence for young people Ungdomshuset last year. “If you take our wall, we'll take your tombs,” vandals wrote on grave stones. The traces of graffiti on Anderson’s tombstone will be especially hard to remove as it is made of porous sandstone. The fairy-tales of the 19th-century writer like “Little Mermaid”, “The Ugly Duckling” and “The Princess and the Pea” have reached generations of children all over the world and may of them have made their way to screen as movies or animation films.
