Honorable Victory for Russian musician

One of Russia’s most celebrated violinists, Vadim Repin, has won the most prestigious French music award, which some compare to the Grammies, “Les Victoires de la Musique Classique”.

Some of the world’s most promising artists take part in the annual French competition, which features a number of categories, including jazz and classical music.

The 39-year-old Siberian-born musician currently living in Europe, Vadim Pepin, has picked up the coveted “Honorable Victory” award.

The prodigy began playing the violin at the age of five. At seven he gave his first performance with an orchestra. Several years later, Repin became the youngest-ever winner of the world’s most prestigious and demanding violin competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Since then, the gifted violinist has become of the world’s most sought-after musicians.
