The U.S. has urged North Korea to stop testing missiles and focus on dismantling its nuclear programme. It follows reports from South Korea's Defence Ministry that its neighbour fired short range missiles.

The ministry says it has intelligence that North Korea launched up to two missiles off its west coast into the Yellow Sea, in an apparent test launch. North Korea carried out a similar exercise off its east coast last month.
