The United Nations Security Council has met in Vienna and is expected to agree to a third set of sanctions against Iran.

Some members of the council believe further sanctions are necessary to punish the Islamic republic for its failure to stop enriching uranium. Russia, which cooperates with Iran in its nuclear programme, is also about support the sanction, saying that the new resolution would protect Iran's ability to run a peaceful nuclear programme and deals with non-proliferation issues only.
