The British Foreign Office has provided Russian authorities with the name of a man suspected of plotting to assassinate businessman Boris Berezovsky. It comes in response to a request from Russia's Prosecutor General's Office, passed to the UK last week.

The unidentified man allegedly connected with the plot was arrested and later deported from the United Kingdom. The self-exiled Russian billionaire temporarily fled the UK on the advice of Scotland Yard because of a plot to assassinate him. The tycoon moved to England six years ago and had often made allegations about being the target of Russian security services. In Russia, Berezovsky is due to go on trial in absentia on charges on embezzlement. He is also wanted in Brazil for alleged money laundering.
