UK mistreats some Russians: Russian Ambassador

He's complained that in some cases the police didn't take what he feels is appropriate actions. The Ambassador is concerned British people have a stereotype that all Russians have Mafia connections. He added this could be caused by “some kind of russophobia” or even broader “a particular case of xenophobia” in the British society. The Sunday Times, however, took his statements as a sign of deteriorating relations between the two countries and “a new stand-off”. An estimated 400,000 Russians live in Britain and about 200,000 Russians visit the country each year.
