British anti-war activist Dr. David Halpin says he hopes that British, American and Israeli politicians responsible for war crimes will be held accountable in his lifetime.

“For the destruction of Iraq and half a million people and maiming of more than two million people, Blair and Straw and Hoon and Campbell… should be in The Hague now, behind bars, while they assemble evidence – it wouldn’t take long actually. Mr. Cameron will be held responsible for what has happened [in Libya]. He’s talking about ‘upping the ante’ and things like that. He means ‘killing more civilians’… It’s unbelievable that the BBC is talking about that in even tones as if it’s all very ordinary,” he told RT.Dr. Halpin became prominent when he joined a group of doctors who questioned the official position on the death of the British Defense Ministry weapons scientist David Kelly. Kelly told a journalist he doubted Iraq had any biological weapons of mass destruction and was later found with his wrists slit.“A top scientist with a top security clearance in America and [in the UK], who attempts to take his life with a pruning knife, which is a most unsuitable blade to cut wrists or anyway, and a pack of co-proxamol tablets. It’s preposterous that a scientist would do that,” Dr. Halpin believes.
