Russia's fastest-ever train has completed its maiden voyage from Moscow to St Petersburg, arriving exactly on time. Its name is Sapsan and it can travel at up to 350 km per hour.

The train, which has been nicknamed “the bird on rails”, is remarkable for its ability to cover the distance between the two cities in 3 hours and 45 minutes. It can carry just over 600 passengers and offers high-end comfort at a price of between 2,000 and 5,200 rubles (about 45-120 euros). The total cost of the project exceeds 1 billion euros.
