Ukrainian politician Yulia Timoshenko has turned up at a student disco in the capital Kiev in an attempt to win over young voters. The parliamentary candidate says education and military reform is a top priority for her party.

Timoshenko says she'll scrap compulsory military service and create a volunteer army if she comes to power after the election.  Ukraine's Defence Minister has dismissed the plan as impractical.    Ukrainian voters go to the polls later in September for parliamentary elections.
