From Barack Obama to Osama Bin Laden - British newspaper the Times has published a list of who they say are the 50 most significant figures of the decade.

The current US president heads the list for being the first black man to occupy the White House.

Second place went to TV Producer Simon Cowell, the mind behind shows like the X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent, followed by the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin finished 12th, pipped by former US President George W. Bush and the world's most wanted man, Osama bin Laden, at number seven.
