The final of three spacewalks has ended at the International Space Station. In their 7-hour space mission, astronauts Michael Lopez-Alegria and Sunita Williams finished tasks left over from two previous outings.
It was the first time three spacewalks had been conducted in such a short space of time without a space shuttle docked alongside.During the two previous spacewalks, the astronauts hooked up a new cooling system for the station.Furthermore, the U.S. astronauts already jettisoned thermal blankets. The covers were used to keep parts of the space station from getting too hot or cold and are no longer needed.
